Google Doodle honors Abdul Sattar Edhi

Proud day for every Pakistani, as on the Birthday of great philanthropist and humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi, Google honours him with a Google Doodle. The doodle showing Edhi, his ambulance, hospital and orphan child to pay tribute to him.

Today's Doodle honors Abdul Sattar Edhi, a global-reaching philanthropist and humanitarian who made it his life’s mission to helping those in need.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was born on 28th February 1928 in Bantva India, and died on 8th July 2016 at the age of 88 years. He founded Edhi Foundation which runs hospitals, homeless shelters, rehab centres, and orphanages across Pakistan. He became the third Pakistani to receive historical state gun carriage funeral after Quaid-e-Azam and ex President General Zia ul Haq. He was the only Pakistani without a state authority or a state role to receive a state funeral.
